The Nassal Company’s scope included rock-work fabrication for the animal habitats, including the polar bear, lynx, eagle, and wolf exhibits. Additional responsibilities involved the carved artificial trees in the eagle and lynx exhibits, and rock-work banks in the wolf exhibit pool.

Buffalo Zoo’s newest addition: Arctic Edge is a 1.5 acre exhibit that features two polar bear enclosures with naturalistic habitats and underwater viewing for guests. The new exhibit serves as a permanent home to the zoo’s resident polar bears: Luna and her mother, Anana. Arctic Edge is also home to American bald eagles, Eurasian Lynx, and Gray Wolves. A key attraction of Arctic Edge is the Arctic Conservation Center. In it, visitors learn how they can act locally and reduce energy use to protect polar bears and other arctic animals in the wild.
